Bogan Shire Council has a Cook’s position available within their Early Learning Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a local leading employer, working in the early childhood sector. The Cook will join the energetic and passionate Children’s Services team, supporting the work of the educators and Children’s Services to provide nourishing and nutritious meals to children attending the Early Learning Centre.

The Cook will be required to source and order appropriate ingredients, in-season fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry and plan meals in consultation with the Manager and Educators, taking into consideration special dietary requirements, allergies and religious or cultural requirements.

The ideal candidate will be a friendly and self-motivated team player, who has a passion and creative flair for cooking, has completed Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) competencies through a registered training organisation in menu planning, nutrition and safe food handling (or be eligible to obtain), is aware of and supports cultural diversity in our community and who has a genuine interest in working with children and families.

The successful applicant will be required to work 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 1pm.

This position contributes to Council’s long term strategic goal through providing professional support to children aged 0-5 years in a safe environment, encouraging them to reach their potential.

The Cook position is permanent part time, 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
