Home-Start Western Area Inc.

Home-Start Western Area Inc. is a local Family Support Service with 21 years’ experience in Nyngan supporting families with children from birth to 8 years. Home-Start now provides a Families NSW Family Worker service .

Information and referral:

To increase knowledge and use of local services, resources and/or activities.

Parent & Child/ren groups:

Informal sessions for parents to meet and share their experiences of parenting; share information on child development, safety, nutrition, self-care etc.  For children, to socialise, play and learn as age appropriate, in a positive environment. 

Provides a link between families and other health and community services.

Case work: Home/community visits, advocacy.  Provide information and support to assist parents in their parenting role.

Literacy & Numeracy Events: e.g. Paint the Town REaD.

Home-Start celebrates and observes Children's Week; Families Week; Child Protection Week etc.

Home-Start works in partnership with other early childhood agencies helping groups to promote Community Capacity Building.
