OVERGROWN PROPERTIES
Property owners have a responsibility to ensure their land is maintained to an acceptable standard so it doesn’t become a harbour for rodents, snakes and other problematic animals, or pose a fire risk.
Legislation requires Council to follow a process when it is notified of an overgrown property which includes inspecting the property and, if necessary, issuing an order to tidy the premises.
If the property owner does not comply within reasonable time Council can pursue the matter further, and complete the required work with all costs passed on to the landowner.
If you would like more information or to notify Council of an overgrown property, please contact our administration on 68359000 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
