Public Notices

It has been a great reprieve to have had some showers of rain around the Shire, and you can always depend on it to show up when there are big events on the agenda.

This weekend Saturday 2nd August is the Nyngan Three Rivers Ag Expo. The Committee have been busy working behind the scenes and hoping the rain holds out until the Expo is over. It is a great family day out with a variety of things on show for all age groups. The Ag Expo never seems to disappoint and brings a lot of visitors to town. There will be everything from farm machinery, fencing, livestock, clothing, shopping merch, real estate and livestock agents, financial solutions, dog trials, food and drink vendors, kids’ activities and face painting and of course the Tractor Pull if it’s not too wet. Get on down to Nyngan Showground this Saturday, gates open at 9am.

On Wednesday 23rd July 2025, I was honoured to be asked to attend the Central North Police District Medals and Award Ceremony held in Bourke NSW to award three of our Nyngan officers. Sergeant Tony Wood was awarded NSW Police Medal Clasp Set for 30 years of Service. Senior Constable Ethan Sheather received a NSW Police Medal and Senior Constable Christopher Carter and Leading Senior Constable Grant O’Brien were awarded a certificate of Commendation.

They are also registered for workers comp, NDIS, DVA and My Aged Care.

Last Friday 25th July 2025, myself and Bogan Shire General Manager Derek Francis attended the Alliance of Western Councils meeting held in Gilgandra. The meeting was well attended on the day; we had a representative from Little Wings Organisation CEO Clare Pearson speak alongside Niki Callan who is a child and Family Health Nurse in the Warren/Trangie area who collaborates with Little Wings to fly Paediatric doctors to Warren once a month providing vital health assessments for children. Clare and Niki spoke about the importance of the Little Wings organisation for the region and funding for them to be able to continue supporting our bush kids. Michael Blackmore the Director of Reform Implementation at NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and Glen Colley the Manager for Local Water Utility Reform, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water provided information on the regions water issues, Dugald Saunders Dubbo MP also provided updates for the Alliance areas.
