Great rain throughout the district over the last week, which will be of great benefit to our agriculture sector in Nyngan. There certainly has been an influx of people coming through Nyngan over the last couple of weeks with thousands of caravaners heading to the Mundi Mundi Bash, a musical festival out past Broken Hill. Great to see so many towns benefitting from the influx in all directions enroute to the event.
Congratulations to the Big Boar Bonanza and its committee on another successful event, and the eradication of feral pests in the area. Again, great to see the influx of people to Nyngan for a good cause. Well done guys and to all the winning participants.
It was good to see the turn out for the Public Hearing for the Reclassification of Land for 8 Tabratong Street (the old Palais Theatre) with the Consultant Lisa Proctor. If the application is successful to turn the site into a usable location for new construction, the preference of community representatives at the meeting, was to see it utilised as a site for community housing, the success of the application will not be known until later in the year.
It is extremely disappointing to see that someone in the community has taken it upon themselves to steal the new trees which were planted for the RSL sub-Branch Avenue of Remembrance. The sixty-eight Bimble Box trees were recently planted by students from Nyngan High School and St Joseph’s Primary School. Whoever is responsible for this act has no respect or acknowledgment for the Project and our men and women who have served.
